Kid in Me was started because of children. We love interacting with kids of all ages to tell stories of kid's uniqueness.
"My approach is simple- do whatever I can to encourage the "real kid" to come out and play. That encouragement comes on two levels- relationship and environment.
Relationally I realize that some children take longer to warm up than others. In those cases, it's important for some camera-free playtime, dialogue, or joking around to help the child warm up to me. For the social butterfly child (like my daughter) the most effective relational tool is to identify something with which they identify. Talking with an Elmo voice is an effective way to relate to children, and something I enjoy doing!
In terms of environment, some children take great photos in new places while others need familiarity. The great thing about Kid In Me Photography is that we're willing to go to whatever environment best fits the temperament of the child. Parents can bring the environment to us, too. That's why we welcome with open arms a child's favorite stuffed animal, the blanky, grandma's rocking chair, or the family pet. Whatever setting encourages the most authentic moment is where we love to shoot."
